Powerscourt Golf Club Captains Charity Day

Powerscourt Golf Club Captains Charity Day

Each year, the Captain and Lady Captain of Powerscourt Golf Club organise an annual fundraising event in support of local and national charities. Over the past eleven years members’ of Powerscourt Golf Club and their guests have raised over €215,000 for these worthy causes. This year Captains Martin Davies and Jan Casey have chosen the Wicklow Hospice Foundation as their charity. The Foundation is a voluntary organisation set up by the people of Wicklow to improve and promote palliative care services in the community.

The charity event generously supported by our members & Volkswagen Ireland will take place on Sunday 8th of June 2014 with an Invitation Team event followed by dinner at the Clubhouse. Powerscourt Golf Club and their members would welcome support from the wider community and anyone wishing to support this worthy cause can contact us on 01 204 6033.  See www.powerscourtgolfclub.com/events for more information.

About Wicklow Hospice

Wicklow Hospice Foundation is a voluntary organisation set up by the People of Wicklow for the People of Wicklow.  Its aims are to improve and promote Palliative Care services in the Community, to bring a Consultant on board and to build a stand-alone specialist unit for the people of Wicklow.  Wicklow Hospice Foundation was founded in 2009, with a target to raise €3m towards the cost of the new facility. A 3.6 acre site was donated by the Columban Sisters in Magheramore on which to build the Hospice.
