Powerscourt Golf Club among winners of ‘European Golf Destination of the Year’

Powerscourt Golf Club is among six members of the Dublin East Coast Golf Alliance (DECGA) which was awarded ‘European Golf Destination of the Year’ in the annual golf industry “Oscars”, the IAGTO Awards. Other members of DECGA include some of Ireland’s finest links and parkland courses including Druid’s Glen, Carton House, The Island Golf Club, The K Club and Mount Juliet.

More than 540 golf tour operators in 62 countries, all members of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) voted Dublin East Coast as the European Golf Destination of the Year in the 2015 IAGTO Awards. The Award recognises the greatest achievements of golf destinations and golf resorts in terms of the experience they deliver to travelling golfers and the professionalism with which the destination and local industry work with golf tour operators.

At the awards reception Powerscourt Golf Club Manager Bernard Gibbons said “Powerscourt Golf Club is a proud founding member of the Dublin East Coast Golf Alliance. The recognition for Dublin East Golf Alliance follows a string of other recent awards for Powerscourt Golf Club, including the Best Parkland Venue in Ireland 2014 Award (Powerscourt Golf Club, Golfer’s Guide to Ireland) and Golf Manager of the Year Award 2014 (Bernard Gibbons, IGTOA).
