Finish in style

Finish in style

Finding the right blend of form and function in our golf swings is not always an easy task for those who are trying to improve. In other words we want it to look right so it does the right thing.

Although functionality should always be end goal for the golf course it can be a useful idea to think about looking stylish in our finish position. This type of thought process can have a number of benefits.

Golf

  • It makes you notice one of the key ingredients of any of your golf swings – BALANCE.
  • It is a simple thought process that is not cluttered with lots of technical information, you just need to know what a good swing finish looks like.
  • Because of the above, more often than not leads to better overall rhythm and flow. In other words it looks more like a swing instead of a hit.
  • The downswing sequence should ideally work from the ground and up through the legs/upper body/arms/hands & club. The simple idea of getting into a good finish position helps you work on the correct foot action and weight movement during your swing. For a lot of golfers who are struggling, this is something that is not achieved very often.
  • Even the simple idea that more people will comment on how well your swing looks can have great benefits to our confidence.

I am not suggesting for a minute that this will cure all the problems we might have with some of our golf swings but it will definitely help a lot of golfers simplify the thought process and bring the blend of form and function closer together.
