Proper Practice

Proper Practice

Proper Practice

For those who go to the range, spend time on the chipping green or just simply visit the putting green for a bit of practice here are a few things to consider.

  • Proper practice means working on “what works and why”
  • The purpose of doing any drill or exercise is to “extract” from the situation what the golfer does with his body that causes good or bad results. Sometimes exaggeration is a good way to begin
  • Novelty (random) helps the brain integrate the new skill, so change your focus and don’t get bogged down doing the same thing for hours.
  • Practice what you are going to face on the course, practice weaknesses, and practice under realistic conditions so that success or failure matters. (practice under pressure)

Make your practice more structured and you will get more out of it.
