Tip for spinning feet

A large number of golfers suffer from getting stuck on the back foot through the impact area, and then what happens is they spin their feet open with a twisting motion on the turf. This is a sign weight distribution and balance is compromised and generally will lead to inconsistent strikes.

Here’s a little drill you can try at the range to help you become aware of the feeling you should be looking for.

A

Drill

Place a ball against the heel of your back foot and the side of your front foot. The objective is to hit a ball without moving the balls either side of your feet. Make sure you try to feel the weight moving naturally onto your front foot bringing the heel of your back foot off the ground naturally in your finish position.
