Each year, the Captain and Lady Captain of Powerscourt Golf Club organise an annual fundraising event in support of local and national charities. Over the past ten years members’ of Powerscourt Golf Club and their guests have raised over €200,000 for these worthy causes. This year Captains John Shiel and Christine McCluskey have chosen the Irish Heart Foundation as their charity. The charity event will take place on Saturday 15th June with an Invitation Team event followed by dinner at the Clubhouse. Powerscourt Golf Club and their members would welcome support from the wider community and anyone wishing to support this worthy cause can contact us on 01 204 6033. www.powerscourt.ie
About the Irish Heart Foundation:
The Irish Heart Foundation is the national charity dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke and it relies on donations for 93% of its income. Today in Ireland more people die from heart and stroke-related illnesses than from cancer, road deaths and suicide combined. Against this background the Irish Heart Foundation works to bring hope, relief and a better future to families all over Ireland. The Irish Heart Foundation gives vital patient support through our Heart & Stroke helpline and provides high quality public information for all.
The Foundation supports pioneering medical research, campaigns for improved patient care, and promotes positive public health strategies. The organisation works in hospitals, schools and workplaces to support, educate and train people to save lives from heart disease and stroke. As a charity we are dependent on the generosity of the public to continue our vital good work. www.irishheart.iewww.stroke.ie
Following confirmation from the Golfing Unions and Sport Ireland that golf is not permitted under level 5 restrictions, unfortunately Powerscourt Golf Club will temporarily be closed until early December.
During this time you can visit our new online shop for ‘Christmas Gift Ideas’ on our website. Gift vouchers for golf accessories, clothing, green fees and golf lessons also available and always a welcome gift for any golfer.
We look forward to welcoming back our members and visitors in the not too distant future. In the meantime, please stay safe and we encourage everyone to adhere to the current guidelines to help flatten the curve.
